Mission log 28 - Rival Disturbance

Log 20201012

The Starbound Wayfinder has just left Hoth!

With the system interdicted by Imperial Star Destroyers the team makes an emergency exit out of the system just as the closest Star Destroyer opens fire!

Fortunately Break Out understood the problem and was able to make the jump to hyperspace in record time with the Commander ordering a jump down the lane leading to Terminus. Fortunately the Starbound Wayfinder sustains no damage in the brief exchange.

With time to breath, the crew decide to head to Roon (S15) on the chance that Duster fled there with Break Out’s ‘stolen’ HWK-700, the Blinding Trailblazer. Commander Pa Pooga reasons that the ‘fama clan would be a safe haven for Celeste to head out to after the disastrous invasion of the Rebel Alliance’s new headquarters.

To throw off Imperial Pursuit, Pa Pooga orders a bizarre zig zag course which dramatically lengthens the trip time to Roon.

Orbital control at Roon doesn’t give the Starbound Wayfinder any issues with its approach, but the crew learns that the Governor lost two of his prized cloak style fighter recently to a mysterious new fighter.

At Roon, the Crew is welcomed by Papa’fama, but Papa informs his valued guests that they are still too early for the next harvest. And sadly, they just missed the wedding of his granddaughter Shys’ to the current Governor, Ajon’mido.

There has been no sign of Duster nor the Blinding Trailblazer. Neither have been to Roon lately.

Pa Pooga’s crew is welcome to stay at Papa’fama’s estate, but they will need to participate in the farm work.

Pa Pooga checks in with the Airship Parts Distributor that he contracted months ago regarding a purchase of military vehicles. Though early, Moz’kacru has secured a number of Troop Transports, a Main Battle Vehicle and even picked up a Laat/i for a good rate!

However the vehicles are in fair condition and entirely stripped of all armaments. Boomer is however, able to conduct needed repairs with just two days work.

Pa Pooga also receives an invitation from another homestead owner one Iman’gatum a Female Twi’lek whom the crew has had only brief interactions with.

She is interested in coordinating with several of her neighbors, just as Papa’fama has done with the team and wishes to sell a large lot of Spice to Pa Pooga for just 4,000 credits per EC.

Iman’gatum is also interested in forgoing her profits in exchange for a batch of hundreds of E-11 blaster carbines. Iman’ confides with Pooga that she is seeking the ouster of Ajon’mido from the Governor’s mansion. (‘mido hasn’t been a popular Governor, but he’s been in reign for two long years already. It’s time for a new leader).

Pooga’s concern is for Shy’s safety, which Iman’ promises. Pooga will consider his options and feasibility and plans to return for the next harvest.

Pooga gathers his team and they take off for their home base at Innton (M18).

Fortunately, Duster and the Blinding Trailblazer are safe and sound at Innton.

DC-01 turns over their passengers, the recruits that they picked up from Mon Gazza (Q16), and complete the last phase of Mission 027 Voluntary Wage.

Rachel Starrunner briefs Wrasp (Cmdr Pa Pooga) on the next mission: "Rival Disturbance," a rescue mission to extract a Rebel Agent, recently arrested on Wroona. The Agent Maj Skyali Pargam is known to be held at an ISB prison on Hosnian Prime (M12).

The Starbound Wayfinder has its consumables topped of by the support team and with the crew reunited, they depart for Nar Shaddaa (S12) to deliver their cargo of attack vehicles to Soshu the Hutt.

Soshu is satisfied with the vehicles delivered and pays the team the promised price for the used combat vehicles.

Pa asks Soshu for advice about the Governor’s ouster and Soshu lets the team know that she’s very happy with Roon’s current governor and that Soshu will happily pay Pa Pooga 10,000 credits per EC of raw spice, as she did for the last season.

Soshu also demands that the team kill Iman’Gatum for her desire to oust Ajon’Mido. Soshu recommends that Iman’s death be conducted AFTER the team executes its trade with her.

The team balks at that demand but Soshu is insistent and issues veiled threats if the team displeases her.

Sufficiently chastised and their business concluded, the team departs and hypers out to Wroona (L15) before they head out to Hosnian Prime (M12). They want to check in with the Gran Zhwaz Brei, the Djaric Table sales rep and a trusted rebel agent, but the team learns that Zhwaz was also arrested shortly after Skyali was detained.

The team makes the short hyperspace trip to Hosina Prime (M12).

Local advertising recommends that they take in a meal at the Hosian Prime Orbital Restaurant, and the crew accepts the invitation, leaving ‘Drips,’ the medical droid, in charge of the ship while they are shuttled to the Restaurant.

The crew has a decent meal and dine in the Mirialan section of the restaurant, but most of the crew split up after desert for after meal drinks.

Log 20201019

After enjoying a pleasant dinner on the Hosnian Prime Orbital Restaurant (courtesy of the Mirialan Shikf) the team reassembles and makes accommodations to de-orbit and land in the prime commercial starport.

They secure a large berth at the discount price of $5,000 credits for a week long stay.

Aliz is asked to book a resort for the crew. (Done). Aliz and Sern then turn to the task of selling the ship’s cargo and possibly securing a cargo for their next destination . . . but where will that be?

The crew discuss their operational objectives and decide that they need two sets of Stormtrooper armor for Hammer and Devo.

Boomer, grabs the girls Stitches, Spice, Ghost with Slider and Breakout for backup. (Celeste and Sern decline to join Boomer on her adventure).

Attempt one is to find a couple of Stormtroopers and to seduce them into a compromizing position where they can be waylaid. Unfortunately Boomer’s charm isn’t up to the task today.

The group wanders about some of the ‘shadier’ sections of the resort trying to find a small patrol to incapacitate.

This team even contemplates heading into a bar and starting a brawl in order to attract a law enforcement reaction but get cold feet.

After some time and a bit of luck the team comes across a patrol of four troopers late at night along a walkway busy with tourists and assorted space crew out enjoying the town.

Boomer nods to the rest of the crew and they fan out to ready their ambush.

Boomer advances toward a trio of space crewmen and picks a fight with the group, tapping into the dark side to aggravate their emotions. One of them is an Aqualish already looking for trouble and he responds aggressively to Boomers insults.

The Aqualish’s Ithorian buddy steps forward to try to make the peace and offers to buy Boomer a drink.

During the initial verbal exchanges, Slider readies a flash bang, but one of the four Stormtroopers notices the weapon and orders Slider to “drop the ‘grenade!’”

The fight begins in earnest!

Slider ‘drops’ his flash/bank at Boomers feet and the stun grenade incapacitates the Aqualish & Ithorian but fleet of foot and waiting for the grenade, Boomer dives out of the area of affect (also away from the Storm Troopers as the grenade fell between her and the troopers and it’s best to fall away FROM grenades not over them when dodging). The flash bang doesn’t hurt any other bystanders.

Stitches leaps into action at the signal, drawing her vibroknife (just in case) and attempts to grapple the closest Stormtrooper but to no affect.

The trooper who had warned Slider to drop his weapon unleashes a salvo of blaster fire at the Bothan in response to Slider’s failure to comply.

Not wanting to charge into a firefight from a disadvantage, Break Out races across the street and down an alley in an attempt to circle around to the Stormtroopers rear. Spice and Ghost, (both non combatants) follow Break Out.

Most of the civilians began to flee! (And wisely I would say) in four different directions.

A bulky Whiphid decides to help out the troopers and move in to flank and detain Slider, who CLEARLY threw the grenade. But Slider scares the beast off by flashing a thermal detonator and threatening to blow everyone up! The Whiphid takes the hint and takes off!

A general melee ensues with the team working to subdue the Stormtroopers with out damaging their valuable armor while the troopers try to gun the assailants with stun bolts.

Break Out successfully sneaks up behind the four troopers and wrenches one of the guy’s neck, incapacitating the troopers. He’s satisfied with his handywork and eager to move onto the next trooper when a couple of locals (hiding in the shadows) decide that they might earn some type of reward if they help out the troopers and shoot Break Out in the back (also with stun bolts) downing the stealthy Duros.

Fortunately for Break Out, and the rest of the team, Spice and Ghost draw their weapons on the Troopers ‘rescuers’ and chase them from the battle with a fusilade from their own blaster pistols.

Boomer and Stitches both wrestle with their troopers with little affect, but Stitches takes a handful of blaster shots for her efforts and begins fighting consciousness. She’s about to go down!

Slider takes out the fourth Trooper with an electric net, stunning and incapacitating the trooper for a short time.

And then Slider gets a message notification on his datapad, informing him that a message for his Imperial Peace Keeper Certificate account has been received. Slider steps aside to check his new message . . . The bounty that Slider put on Shikf has been claimed and the local Constables are holding the Mirialan for Slider to pick up.

With things getting desperate, Boomer and Stitches both grab their lightsabers to finish off the last two troopers who are putting up too much of a fight!

Stitches slashes her opponent, killing the trooper and destroying his chest and back pauldrons.

Boomer slices her opponent’s head off.

It’s a quiet moment as the battle subsides (for a moment).

Ghost moves in to revive Break Out (and revives the Duros sufficient for him to move). Spice grabs the four E-11’s while the rest of the team strip off the troopers’ armor and bundle them for easy travel.

Moment’s later and leaving four corpes behind, the team ex-filtrates from the area with local constabulary sirens approaching.

The whole team makes it back to the ship and the only crew ‘detained’ is Slider, but using bluff, bravado, and his IPKC credentials he bluffs his way past the inquisitive Constabuls.

With the team back and all safe, Stitches checks the wounded. With little effort Stitches and her Medical Droid assistant patch everyone up. Everyone will be back on their feet by morning after a good night’s rest.

Fivesday Morning.

Wrasp has decided to take advantage of the accommodations that Aliz (Spice) has secured and enjoyed a quiet night at the resort. (He left a note for the rest of the team).

The next morning Pa Pooga (Wrasp) wakes up and turns on the ‘news’ to learn that there was a ‘disturbance’ in town requiring a law enforcement presence. Apparently there were some fisticuffs but ‘no one was hurt!’ (according to the tourism and vacation board) ‘there were absolutely NO casualties at ALL!’

Pooga comms the team to see what really happened.

They converse a bit and though satisfied that they have the costumes needed to try to sneak in a prisoner with Hammer and Devo acting as storm troopers they still need a safe way to get to the detention facility (which is on the other side of the planet and located in an isolated and desolate corner of the world on a seaside cliff). The team has checked out orbital visuals of the remote facility. They still need an ‘in.’

Slider has a bounty to ‘pick up’ and he takes Break Out with him, with plans to return the recalcitrant Mirialan back to the resort.

Before Slider can get to the Constabulary Station, Slider is intercepted and a young well dressed Mirialan man wants Laorl (Slider) to meet with his client before picking up Shikf. Slider is promised $15,000 just to meet with the client and another $15,000 for listening to the client’s offer.

The client is Shikf’s wife and she reveals that she is a battered wife, revealing a number of pronounced bruises under her clothes.

She asks what charges are being leveled against Shikf and is disappointed that he’s only wanted for ‘harassment’ as that won’t be enough.

The wife needs solid evidence of malfeasance if she is to win in a divorce proceeding. She requests that Slider detain Shikf for at least three days and to consider her offer. She is willing to pay Slider $50,000 if Slider can return to Miral and secure the requisite evidence.

Slider promises to hold Shifk and will discuss the offer with his team.

Slider updates his team on the deal and secures his prisoner. Wrasp prepares a walk in closet for questioning.

The team psychologically distresses Shikf and torments him with Boomer who mysteriously appears and disappears (using a force mind trick).

Shikf is far from cowed and demands to be released! He’s an important wealthy man and if he’s not released he’ll show no mercy when he gets back to his resources!

Log 20201029

“Guys! Hold on a minute. No wait! Why are we actually here on this planet? What are we actually supposed to be doing?” (Wrasp)

When we last left off, Wrasp, Boomer, Break Out, and Slider (mostly Wrasp and Boomer) were torturing the wife beating Mirialan Shikf (mostly psychologically).

ABY 3 CD 2-24 Fivesday.

They have Shikf bindered to a chair with his arms locked behind him and his wrists are bound with binders.

In spite of the visual and gaslighting confusion that they are subjecting Shikf to, he doesn’t break.

Shikf maintains his ‘innocence’ and demands to be released. Shikf reminds his inquisitors that he’s a powerful wealthy Mirialan and if they don’t acquiesce to Shikf’s demands he promises retribution (as only a powerful wealthy individual can promise)!

The inquisition is interrupted by a knock at the door! Pa Pooga, being the occupant, answers the door and find his crewman Aliz (Spice) waiting in the hall wearing what can only be charitably be called a bikini. She’s looking for Fiaye (Boomer), who isn’t in her room. Does 'mon Capitaine' happen to know where she is?

Without asking for details, Pa Pooga returns to the en-suite (where Shikf is being questioned) and drags the Mirialan Fiaye into the hallway. Pooga closes his door leaving Boomer to whatever the scantily clad Twi’lek has concocted.

Aliz explains that the ‘girls’ are getting together in the resorts area with large areas of water. Yeah the pools. There’s a game involving a net which involves bouncing a ball over the net. They want some more players. Does Fiaye have a swimsuit? No? That’s okay! All of the girls got matching floral pattern, fucia, neon, lime green, swimsuits from the Resort’s gift shop. Now they will all match!

Aliz also offers to give Fiaye pointers on how to flirt with men. This is a good place because there are so many beautiful men at the pools!

Meanwhile, Marhan (Stitches) is approached by Cop (Ghost), also similarly attired to Aliz and invites the Mando to the pool party.

Back in Pooga’s room the torture continues . . .

Shikf threatens the “Bothan’s” IPKC. Shikf reminds the party that he’s being detained unlawfully and demands to know who their client is.

Shikf even offers to pay double whatever the team is being paid if they will release him!

Pa Pooga (Wrasp) is offered $1,000,000 credits pending Shikf’s release. Pooga declines the offer.

Pooga then turns to the Force.

Though Shikf is strong willed, Pooga extracts a confession! Quite easily!

Satisfied, Wrasp asks Slider if the recording of the confession will be sufficient?

“What recording?” the Bothan asks.

One hour later and WITH a recording device running, they get the recorded confession, by the Force.

Sern comms Pooga as the torture wraps up. Sern has been supervising the offloading of the Starbound Wayfinder when one of the stevedores hands her a flimsey.

The note startles Sern (Shiny) and when Pooga asks her to read the message via the comms, Sern’s response is “Are you sure?”

Pooga is headed that way anyway so he asks Sern to stay there.

Pooga tries to comm Boomer. He’ll need Drips (their 2-1B Medical Droid) to keep Shikf sedated and recently Wraps destroyed his hypo extension . . . and he’ll need that repaired.

The comms don’t work and then Pooga remembers that the Mirialan is likely at the pools wearing attire that won’t hold a commlink.

After a quick side trip, Pooga invites Boomer and Stitches to join him at the Starbound Wayfinder as he will need help getting Drips back up and running to take care of their ‘passenger.’

All five PC’s get to the Starbound Wayfinder with their charge and Sern is still supervising the stevedores with the unloading of their cargo of parts and components. Pooga receives the flimsey while Stitches, Boomer, and Slider escort their passenger to his ‘room.’

The message on the Flimsey reads:

Gorensia Kajidic Royal Decree and Proclamation

Her Highest Eminence Soshu, the Royal Guardian and Arbiter for Kajidic Gorensia, sends you her enthusiastic greetings to Captain Pa Pooka the Kel Dor.

Soshu wishes to convey her pleasure at her recent acquisitions provided by her most humble servant. The new vehicles have certainly been received in the intended spirit and caused the desired effects.

However, it has come to the attention of her Eminence that the acquisitions seem quite toothless. To remedy this shortcoming and for her servants to remain within the good graces of Soshu it is advised that the crew of the Lucinda acquire the following purchases from Czerka Arms, conveniently located upon the world of Hosnian Prime.

Soshu has been issued a Purchase Order with Czerka numbered AX-03-00064 for the following equipment:

Lin – Item – Encumbrance Capacity per – QTY – Net Price – Lin PRICE

  1. CZ3 Heavy Blaster Cannon – 40 EC each – 1 unit – $5,000.00 = $5,000.00
  2. CZ-LL-17 Lt Laser Cannon – 40 EC each – 14 units – $5,500.00 = $77,000.00
  3. CZ-ba-4 Auto Blaster – 20 EC each – 8 units – $3,000.00 = $24,000.00
  4. Cz sa 56 Hvy Repeat Blaster – 10 EC each – 14 units – $6,000.00 = $84,000.00 Totals -1060 – 45 = $214,000.00

Please present to the Czerka Agent Dagald Gwildigoc for expidited service in this matter.

Soshu will award her servant with the same generous rewards as he has come to expect from previous arrangements.

Delivery of this cargo at Captain Pooga’s earliest convenience would be most appreciated by her greatness.

Message Terminates.

Pooga shows the message to Break Out and panics. Break Out already has a troubled history with Soshu and this ‘request’ is a bit disquieting.

Wrasp orders Break Out to prepare the Starbound Wayfinder for immediate departure.

Sern asks for clarification when the engines fire up. Her Stevedores aren’t finished unpacking! Does the Captain really intend to launch the ‘Finder? Now?!

The stevedores will still take a couple of hours to finish unloading, which will push the task to the end of the day. (After normal business hours).

Pooga decides to delay his trip to the Czerka.

Winding down for the night, most of the crew continue to relax and enjoy the amenities at the luxurious resort.

Unsien Mos (Break Out) decides to try his luck at one of the local Sabacc casinos.

Break Out puts up $500 credits (everything he has) and does really well! He walks away with $1,100 after a couple of hours of spirited play, but he gets there by cheating. Which one of the other players call him out on!

Casino Security picks up Mos and lets him know that they have security footage of his cheating and that they’re going to hold him until the local constables show up to arrest him!

Mos makes a deal with the Security team and offers to pay them the unfounded gains. Security will accept his offer if Mos pays them the full $1,100 that he has on hand.

Mos, (not wanting to face the ire of Wrasp subsequent to an arrest) agrees to the terms and walks away free, but creditless.

ABY 3 CD 2-25 Starday.

The next morning Pooga (Wrasp) gets his various crew members on a joint commlink call as he explains the current mission needs.

The Starbound Wayfinder will be departing shortly to head to another port on Hosnian Prime to load up cargo. In short the Captain needs enough crew to load up a cargo.

Sern worked all day Fivesday and wants a well earned day off! Aliz agrees to swap out with Sern and let her crewmate enjoy the Starday off.

Break Out will need to fly, but Celeste (Duster) has been enjoying the time off and wants to know if she can take the weekend off. She’s been getting some attention and wants to ride the wave. Pooga authorizes her time off.

Boomer offers to ride right seat for Break Out.

Most of the rest of the crew opt to continue relaxing at the resort.

One short trip out to the Czerka starport, Pooga learns that the admin offices are closed for the weekend. Please return on Onesday? Please? No one is actually working on the weekend . . .

The rest of the weekend is enjoyed quietly.

Hammer and Devo spend some time trying to teach the Twi’leks to get comfortable in water and to teach them to swim. Aliz is fearful and reticent, but Cop isn’t much better. Both Twi’leks do get more comfortable with the water.

“Is this our Beach episode?”

ABY 3 CD 2-27 Onesday.

Pooga gathers his teams again to try to get to Czerka Arms to pick up Soshu’s shipment.

Wrasp connects with the Czerka agent Dagald Gwildigoc easily enough and Gwildigoc is ‘ready to deliver’ the shipment once he receives the payment.

But the crew can’t pick up the cargo directly from Czerka. The shipment is in a warehouse in the commercial port (back where the crew has been parking the Starbound Wayfinder). Dagald asks Pooga if he’s done this kind of shipment before and with Pooga’s equivicating answer Dagald reminds Pooga to not kill the guards!

Pooga makes the payment and Dagald hands over the warehouse address to Pooga . . .

Dagald explains that the Empire prohibits sales of heavy arms to the Hutts so . . . this shipment needs to be smuggled off world.

Meanwhile, Boomer and Stitches team up together on Onesday to see if they can get their hands on an officer’s uniform.

Plan A is to hang out in the lobby of the resort and to see if any Imperial Officers check in.

Bingo! There’s a team.

The two women tail the Imps to the Captains room but lose sight of the LT and the NCO. No matter. They want the Captain's uniform.

After a bit of a wait the Captain heads out and the two bypass the room security and grab the Captain’s spare duty uniform.

When Pooga returns to the commercial starport, he orders Aliz to assemble vehicles and stevedores sufficient to load up the cargo. But he redacts the actual cargo on the Purchase Order to obscure what kind of cargo is being picked up . . . from Czerka Arms . . . She makes arrangement for four rental vehicles, drivers, and appropriate stevedores to transport the Czerka Arms (their name is on the top of the Purchase Order!) to the Starbound Wayfinder. The vehicles and workers are scheduled to arrive 0600 hours on Twosday morning.

Stitches and Boomer update Pooga when that team returns to the resort. They now have an Officer’s Navy Uniform as well as Three Stormtrooper sets.

There are a lot of high risk moving pieces that need to happen and the Executive Team (read PC’s) get together for a planning session.

They need to pick up the weapons (worst kept secret for the session) from the warehouse while figuring out how to get their cohorts out of the isolated Imperial Prison (Detention Facility 4958).

They decide to test out the Uniforms for the pickup of the Czerka Arms. (Pooga is still trying to keep the cargo contents a secret but the other PC’s keep spilling the beans). Hammer will dress up as the Officer while Devo, Stitches, and Boomer will don the Stormtrooper armor.

That evening, Boomer forges a prison transfer so that the ‘security’ team can pick up Skyali Pargam and Zhwas Brei from DF 4958.

The team also locates an Imperial logistics hub located off the Commercial Starport where they intend to present the transfer orders and to secure transport to (and from) the prison.

Tentative plan is to have Break Out act as the pilot, in spite of the fact that he doesn’t have an appropriate uniform . . .

Celeste is missing (kind of). While the rest of the crew is present and accounted for, the woman has not responded to Pooga’s comms. The crew reminds Pa Pooga that he did permit Duster the weekend off and that she intended to leave the city.

Celeste does show up late that evening and announces that she knows how to ‘acquire’ a 42 foot long Powered Water Craft with a top speed of 37 knots. If the crew needs one. Twosday Morning the hired crew assemble (as expected) and Pa Pooga scrambles to get his team ready.

Aliz (Spice), Hammer, Devo, Stitches, and Boomer (all disguised) head out to pick up the cargo while NOT killing the Czerka security guards at the warehouse.

The rest of DC-01 are on standby at the Starbound Wayfinder, monitoring their progress while Wrasp interfaces with Hammer (and the Stormtroopers) via audio comms.

But when Hammer and his “Stormtroopers” exit the cargo vehicles, the Czerka guards all flee! Leaving the warehouse unguarded! With no one to deter them, the stevedores start loading up the cargo and in four hours load up the weapons.

We wrap up and we’ll pick up this session the next morning CD 2-29 Threesday.

Ready to execute the “Prison Break.”

Log 20201109

Twosday ABY 3 CD 2-28

Wrasp and Boomer awaken early after a restless night.

It’s go time for the rescue mission.

The tension is palpable as the rest of the crew stumble into the galley in turn.

Hammer struts in with the captured Captains uniform already ‘in character’ and the rest of the crew roll their eyes. He’s insufferable! He does report for duty to the Commander and reports that he is well and ready to proceed! Wrasp reminds Hammer to listen carefully from Wrasp and to follow what verbal leads that he has. Hammer has a audio earpiece issued to him.

Celeste (Duster) points out that her roommate Marhan (Stitches) is not feeling well! The immediate issue is that Stitches was planned to be one of the Stormtroopers to escort Hammer on the rescue mission.

Pooga (Wrasp) has two options for his crew to don the third set of armor; Sern or Celeste. Pooga picks the backup pilot (Celeste) and she heads back to her quarters to don the armor.

The other two people doning the armor are Boomer (Mirialan who will pass as long as she doesn’t take the armor off) and Devo (a former Imperial Acadamy flunk out but has a bit of training).

Break Out is going to accompany the group as the Shuttle Pilot (for the transfer team) but he doesn’t have a flight uniform. He suggests going in his civilian clothes with the excuse that he hadn’t been issued his uniform yet. Hammer and Devo point out that story won’t fly! (Pun intended). Celeste offers to let Unsien Mos (Break Out) her Imperial Flight uniform (as a lark) but he accepts! Okay. That’s five for this rescue crew.

The next logistics question is how to get Captain Rogjar Pulwalp (Hammer) and his three troopers to the Imperial Logistics Admin center. It would be a 15 minute ride for a taxi OR a 30 minutes walk. Taxi might be suspicious (yes) and they opt to walk. Hammer gets the crew into formation and they head out.

Aliz (Spice) and Sern (Shiny), with nothing else to occupy them, head to the Galley to play several rounds of Dejarik.

Slider deploys one of his remote surveillance droids to follow the group and to give the rest of the crew a visual of what is going on.

On the bridge, Ghost mans her station at the comms station, while Slider occupies the right pilot station. Wrasp takes left seat, preparing to make executive decisions and to observe Slider’s surveillance droid.

Thirty minutes later Cpt Pulwalp’s (Hammer) team get to the Logistics Center and no one gives him a second glance as his team enters the facility.

Hammer is recognized by the Duty Clerk and they spend a couple of minutes catching up. The clerk is impressed by how quickly Pulwalp made Captain! (Congrats).

Pulwalp eventually presents the transfer order to which the desk clerk comments that they’ve been expecting this transfer any time now.

The clerk and Pulwalp head to one of the back areas and discuss the transfer order. It looks in order and the admin office can get a shuttle ready for shipment in about three hours. Slider’s drone looses visual of Pulwalp during this interview, but Wrasp is still able to listen to the conversation and help direct Pulwalp to ask questions. The admin CO points out to Pulwalp that while his preferred pilot is welcome to accompany Palwalp’s team, the ISB will provide their own pilots for their own shuttle due to security concerns.

Pulwalp’s team are offered the opportunity to hang out in the facilities rec room, but they decline and they head out to hang out at a local coffee shop.

Two and a half hours later Cpt Pulwalp gets a call on his communicator from the Imperial Admin Facility letting his team know that their shuttle is ready.

Pulwalp’s team board the provided Lambda Shuttle are assisted to their seats by a Crew Chief and observe that there are three other crew onboard. The Shuttle also has a pretty big load of cargo for delivery to prison Detention Facility 4958 (The “Redoubt of Doubt”).

The trip is without incident but Slider’s drone can’t keep up with the shuttle and the ship quickly exceeds the local communications radio range of Pulwalp’s team. They are now on their own!

Pooga remains at the commercial starport in their berth with his crew on standby.

Three hours later the shuttle arrives at the Redoubt of Doubt.

The Crew chief assists Pulwalp’s crew in disembarking and point them at the Prisoner access lock. The group agrees to leave Break Out outside close to the shuttle and Break Out offers to help unload the shuttle. He assists a small crew who begin the task of offloading the cargo.

Once cycled inside, the ‘Captain’ is met by two ISB agents who inform him that his teams weapons will need to be turned over. Pulwalp accepts these instructions and informs his team to turn over the E-ll’s (!).

They are pointed to the transfer train which is set on a monorail that extends to a pillar out in the ocean and out to the prison proper.

When the team arrives at the elevator at the spire, the controllers let them know that they are waiting for the crew and taken down to the bottom level.

At the bottom, the crew find themselves in a three tiered prison with the cells situated along the exterior. Four levels up is the central control tower overlooking all of the cells. About 1/3rd of the cells are occupied (at a quick glance).

Three levels up, the four rebel agents are greeted by an Iktotchi Inquisitor calling himself “Penumbra” who greets the four. He indicates that he has been waiting for them and invites them to enter the four empty cells in front of them. Penumbra is flanked by four ISB guards and these four guards are armed with E-11 blaster carbines.

Penumbra wields and ignites a red bladed lightsaber.

With little choice left to them, Hammer, Boomer, Devo and finally, Duster take the available cells.

Boomer makes some indignant remarks to her oppressor and he invites her to be questioned immediately.

The questioning is very brief and Penumbra informs her that the Emperor was ‘slightly inconvenienced’ by their operation at Nkllon and he asks Boomer about her involvement.

Boomer is indignant and uncooperative, and Penumbra cuts the questioning short. (He has plenty of time to break down his new prisoners). Boomer is sent back to her cell and Penumbra retrieves Hammer. Hammer is escorted into the elevator and away.

Break Out

While unloading supplies, six ISB guards approach Unsien Mos (Break Out) and attempt to arrest the Duros.

Break Out grabs his blaster and resists! The guards and Break Out trade shots. The guards have their E-11’s set for stun (actually their blasters are permanently set for stun) and after taking out the two guards covering the cargo doors, Break Out races out to the landing pad and up onto the Lambda shuttle, hotly pursued by the other four guards.

But with a strong lead on his pursuers Break Out makes it onto the shuttle, closes the hatch and secures the cockpit!

In record time, Unsien fires up the engines and takes off, just in time to notice that the facility has a Turbo Laser Cannon turret! A BIG Cannon! And it’s turning its gun toward the fleeing shuttle!

While Break Out gets the first salvo off, the Cannon gets a couple of hits in, damaging the shuttle, but not sufficient to bring the craft down. Break Out gets a final salvo off, causing a massive explosion as he dramatically flies past the expanding explosion and shock waves.

But he’s caught in the explosion and looses altitude as he veers dangerously close to the wave tops.

He recovers the craft and flies past the spire, the shuttle spewing smoke.

Once he’s recovered and returned to level flight, Break Out taps into the planet comms network and patches a message to the “Midnight Streak.”

His report is simple and succinct. “It’s bad. It’s very bad!”

Wrasp lets Break Out know that they’re ‘on their way’ and advises Break Out to head back to the prison to rendezvous with the rest of the crew. They should be there in three hours. So Break Out needs to find a safe place to find shelter.

And it gets worse! Break Out makes a turn back to the shore and picks up TIE Fighters bearing down on him! He’s running out of time! And with a damaged engine leaving a trail of smoke, it will be very easy for them to follow him!

Aboard the Midnight Streak

At about the same time Ghost receives a message from from the Traffic Controllers. All ships are being ordered to land and clearance for takeoff is suspended!

Pooga (Wrasp) ignores the order and takes off.

Ghost, communicates an objection citing a full cargo hold, but Pooga orders her to shut up!

Wrasp orders the crew to battle stations. Sern mans the ventral Quad Turret, while Aliz and Slider head to the broadside cannons. Slider mans one of the Starboard stations while Aliz takes an opposite station to the Port side.

There is a tremendous confusion with a lot of the merchants voicing similar objections and the “Midnight Streak” is able to get to low orbit without interference.

"Rescue" Team

Boomer and Devo have a quick conversation (as they are adjacent to each other) as Boomer realizes that Hammer was not returned to his cell! That BASTARD betrayed them! Boomer accuses Devo of being in on the plot and Devo is indignant. He shows anger at the betrayal, even under the influence of the force manipulation by Boomer. He seems surprised and disappointed by Hammer’s betrayal.

Back to Break Out

Breakout is ordered by “Gamma Flight” to return to the prison platform or be destroyed! Break Out signals his compliance but at the last minute plots in a course to collide with the admin facility and then ejects from the shuttle.

His calculations are spot on and the shuttle slams into the side of the building (Damaging much of the prisoner intake areas as well as demolishing the central prison command facilities).

And like a movie hero, Break Out’s ‘chute’ lands him next to the wreckage. With most of the security features bypassed and the prison in ruin, Break Out makes his way to the tram station and boards the train.

It takes little effort for him to bypass the command controls on the tram and he sends himself out to the prison.

The guards manning the prison are confused when Break Out gets to the elevator and allow him access to the controls. Break Out sends himself to the top prison level and he immediately attacks the guards with his blaster pistol, utterly surprising the guards!

This looks like their chance, and Boomer and Duster, having concealed their light sabers on their trooper armor (they haven’t been ‘processed’ yet by the guards) and while Break Out draws the guards combined fire, Boomer and Duster break out and free Devo.

They scramble for the fallen blaster carbines dropped by the two guards who were killed by Break Out, just as the Duros succumbs to the last blaster bolts by the last guard.

Devo, grabbing an E-11 finishes off the last guard.

The trio demand the surrender of the two guards in the control center and receive it. Devo detains the two (roughly) while Duster tends to Break Out. The Duros is unconscious and Duster isn’t able to revive him.

Boomer figures out from the computer terminals that communications with the rest of the admin section is shut off. The only thing available are the local controls for the prison cells.

The control center has a small armory of E-11’s and 10 of the rebels are able to be re-armed (including Devo and Duster).

Boomer discovers that the two prisoners that they came for are here, plus there are eleven other rebels being held! She frees all of the rebel agents and over several trips, they get the rebels up to the tram station.

The Tram will only accommodate eight passengers so Devo and Boomer grab eight eager volunteers.

But Penumbra is waiting for the tram with four guards!

Fiaye and her soldiers try to fight their way out and the odds look good, but Penumbra is a skilled warrior. Penumbra reflects a blaster attack back at the soldier attacking him and takes him out with his own attack!

Other than that, the rebel prisoners take down the rest of the ISB guards, but it’s up to Fiaye K’Faiya to deal with Penumbra.

While the Iktotchi is a capable defender for himself his attacks are not up to Boomer’s attacks and Penumbra is mortally wounded.

The Iktotchi stumbles, and is bleeding out and the Mirialan ends the inquisitors suffering.

The ISB security staff is depleted and the liberated Rebels take control of the ruins with little effort.

End Session!

Log 20201116

Twosday ABY 3 CD 2-28.

The Midnight Streak (Actually the Starbound Wayfinder) has made it into low orbit and with Break Out’s distress call, Wrasp is racing to get to the prison in the hopes that he can help with a rescue.

At this altitude, Wrasp can even see a ribbon smudge of smoke rising from the coast of the continent that they are approaching in about the same area that he expects the prison to be. That helps Wrasp approach his destination.

Wrasp’s attack on Ghost’s sensor and communications console has shut down the sensors so Wrasp is flying this ship via visual flight reference.

Gamma Flight intercepts the Midnight Streak and orders the merchant ship to turn back as the Gozanti C-ROC is headed toward an interdiction zone.

The Gunners on the Midnight Streak open fire on the four trailing TIE Fighters, surprising the fighters and obliterate the flimsy ships in short order.

With the skies now cleared of enemy fighters, Wrasp settles back on course and prepares to land.

ON the ground at Detention Facility 4958 K’Faiye’s (Boomer) newly liberated rebel prisoners have cleared the rest of the prison admin quarters, rounding up the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) Admin and Guards. The Rebels take their prisoners and round them up into the dining room.

Duster continues to try to resuscitate Break Out (who was shot several times by stun blasts) by ISB Guard but he’s still unconscious and not responsive.

Boomer is taken to the Dining Facility (DiFac) by Devo and she questions Hammer on why he was taken to the upper facility.

Hammer spins her a tale about how he was drugged and questioned by the Iktotchi Inquisitor and held in one of the upper facility cells. There are two problems with his story.

  • Hammer was not in the cells that were obliterated by Break Out’s shuttle when it destroyed them.
  • The Rebel soldiers found him down in the barracks with a couple other ISB agents.

Using the force, Boomer also detects that Hammer is lying to her.

Hammer is detained and prepared for extraction.

Boomer’s communicator chimes and it’s Wrasp on the Starbound Wayfinder. The ship is approaching the prison and he’s getting ready to land.

Boomer notifies the Rebels and they prepare for extraction.

The Starbound Wayfinder is too big for the landing pad built for Detention Facility 4958. So Wrasp decides to set down next to the warehouse. It’s a good landing until the ship slides its landing gear down and toward the facility, burying the struts into the mud. (Ship stuck)!

The rebels board the Starbound Wayfinder and prepare for debarkation.

Fiaye (Boomer) uses the force to move the dirt and mud off of the struts, freeing the ship!

She gets onto the center elevator and as the ship begins to lift off, an Imperial Shuttle swoops over the burning prison and blasts the Gozanti in the port side in an attack that is both quite by surprise and completely unexpected.

The Imperial Shuttle circles around to get behind the fleeing C-ROC. From the body of the shuttle about 20 “escape pods” fire out the top of the shuttle.

A firefight erupts between the Shuttle and the Starbound Wayfinder. The C-ROC is bigger and has more firepower and prevails against the Shuttle, destroying it in a fiery explosion.

There is a lot of confusion in the upper atmosphere so the crew of the Starbound Wayfinder are able to exfil the Hosnian Prime system.

Wrasp orders that the ship make a course to Nar Shaddaa so that they can deliver their cargo to Soshu the Hutt.

Shortly after jumping into hyperspace, Devo brings one of the refugees (No! Liberated Prisoners)! With a report that the man was recently tortured. He revealed the location and name of his rebel contact (on Corellia) and the agent asks Wrasp to try to help liberate the newly outed spy. Wrasp refuses to free the Rebel Agent (Van Ondriss) and continues on his current mission. Ondriss will be captured by the ISB shortly . . .

The trip to Nar Shaddaa takes six and a half days to complete.

En route, Wrasp, Slider, and Boomer question both Devo and Hammer respectively to determine whether either are spies! (Based on Boomer’s report that Hammer turned on the team mid mission).

Wrasp does most of the questioning and frames it like an after action review (AAR). Devo’s story checks out and via standard cross examination and force enhanced perceptions he is determined to be loyal to the Rebellion.

However, Hammer’s story is filled with deception and deceit. Hammer is detained as a spy. Now the ship has two prisoners, (the Mirialan Shikf and Hammer). Devo is permitted to vent his anger and sense of betrayal on his former ‘friend.’ Devo beats Hammer up quite a bit.

Twosday wraps up.

The Starbound Wayfinder arrives to Nar Shaddaa (S12) on Twosday CD 3-05. While they don’t meet with Soshu, they quickly unload their cargo and receive their payment.

The ship slips off to Innton (M18) so that they can return to their Secret Rebel Base; Defiant Core. The trip takes the Crew 8 days with arrival on Threesday CD 3-13. Mission "Rival Disturbance" is officially completed and considered a success.
